A closer shot of the keep. It was used in World War I and II to defend the bay. It was originally built by King Henry VIII.

Oh, yeah, I like this one much better than the distance shot, Jeff. Used during the world wars, eh? I'm guessing there was a large spotting scope up top and one or more moderate-bore rifles at ground level. From the small amount of horizon we see on the two sides, this appears to be a high point in the countryside. I love the architecture, a bit different than most castles/keeps Ive seen here at Caedes, and those mullioned windows indicates an area of warmth and weather-tightness inside. Also good for a defense crew.

I wish I was a Glow Worm, a Glow Worm's never glum, 'cause how can you be grumpy, when the sun shines out your bum?

A fabulous fortress - amazing that it was built in the early 1500's.
You have given us a great view of it.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
