We had thought that we would explore this castle on a Sunday evening. Everything said it closed at 6 pm. We got there at 4:40 pm, only to find out that during the off-season they closed at 4:30 pm. Still, we explored the grounds a bit. You don't realize how tall the walls on moats are until you walk them.

I wish I was a Glow Worm, a Glow Worm's never glum, 'cause how can you be grumpy, when the sun shines out your bum?

Was undoubtedly a tough job to build them, Jeff.
This capture gives a good impression of the size of the walls.

I like this perspective - makes a unique image and gives an idea of the hugeness of the moat

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

These grounds, with the obvious human effort put into those ramparts, has to be at least half the magnificence of the site. I would love to see this in person.
