This is a scene from the city of Flensburg. Flensburg is the Northern most city of Germany. It is very close to the border between Germany and Denmark.
Raj, I've visited Flensburg a few times during the 'Kieler Woche' (the 'Kiel Week'), a yearly international sailing event in Kiel, a town about 80 kilometres south of Flensburg. This image brings back some good memories to me as it shows the Flensburg church 'Sankt Marien' ('Saint Mary'). Flensburg is not only famous for its 'Flensburger Pilsener' (a German beer), also called 'Flens' but for its Naval Academy at Mürwik (a part of Flensburg, also called Mørvig) with its sail training ship 'Gorch Fock' as well. Thanks for this very fine post.
I would love to tour your great country Raj. I saw a little of it when on vacation in 1986. I stayed is Strasburg, France and I ventured as far north as Stuttgart in Germany. I was much impressed by the cleanliness throughout the country. This Steeple reminds me of some I saw. Wonderful post.
Good vantage point for this shot!...I might have been tepmted to make this into a Vertical cutting out those yacht posts!
Goodun' pal...
