Another view of the Kiel Canal. I wasn't hanging from a glider high above to take these photos as Jimbob mentioned: I was on the high bridge over the canal. The bridge is built high enough (clearance 138 ft.) for large ships to pass under.

Raj, As far as I can remember, the last time I was sailing through the 'Kieler Kanal' was about 1970(!) on our way from Copenhagen to Wilhelmshafen. I must have somewhere still some images of the passage. They were taken from the bridge (of our ship) when we sailed under one of the bridges of the canal. Rather impressive.
Thanks for this fine post and thanks for bringing back some sweet memories.
Regards, Cornelius.

Raj - You found the busy canal at a quiet moment for this capture. Well done! Thad

It is easy to see which way the wind is blowing from the ripples in the water. A great overhead view of the canal and surrounding area. It looks like a miniature road and village. From your pov it is also easy to see just how wide this canal is. Great shot, Raj.

Another great shot from your perch Raj. It really shows so much beauty. I bet the bridge is impressive from the Captain's point of view. Wonderful post.

Do the roads follow the entire length of the canal? That would be a nice drive on a beautiful day like it looks like you had. I am glad to hear I don't have to worry about you crashing the glider. LOL. Beautiful shot, Raj.
