The "Linda Oldendorff" is a bulk carrier built in Copenhagen, Denmark. I was captain of the "Linda" during 1995/96. On my first voyage on the "Linda" we went from Fredericia in Denmark to Norfolk, U.S.A. and my last voyage there was from Baltimore to Yokohama through the Panama canal with about 70,000 tons of grain., mostly maize. The ship has been sold by the company later and is probably sailing under a different name now.

P.S. This is the photo of an official photo resized and edited.

She a beauty Raj..I suppose she carried everything from Iron ore to marine sand and gravel..Before I joined the Army,I tried to join the Royal Navy.At the interview,They asked if I could swim,I said,"Why,haven't you any ships",I never heard back from them for some reason..Still I would have liked to have been a Mariner....R.

In the narrative of my 'Give Way' image I quoted Owd Bob because he recently said in his comment on one of my other images: "You just cannot take the 'Captain' out of the Sea!!...can you eh...lol." . Your comment was: "I beg to disagree Cornelius. After 44 years at sea sailing worldwide I am happier on land than at sea!" You may be right Raj, but to me you have proven with this post that it cost a lot of time before the seawater has disappeared out of our vains. Hope you'll agree with me this time (lol), my friend.

Regards, Cornelius.

That's quite a responsibility to lead such a huge vessel through international waters and great distances. Do you miss it, Raj? A massive boat that is and I like the way you can see the water reflected in the hull. Oh, I now see your answer in Cornelius' comment above. That's a lot of sea faring, Raj. I have been on a boat only a handful of times in my life. I'll bet that you are a good swimmer too.

I see the shot rekindled some memories for you Raj. I can only imagine being in charge of such a vessel. They won't even let me take charge in a canoe. Great rework of an official shot.

Linda's a beauty, Raj. Outstanding capture of this huge ship! I would never be able to captain a ship like this. Heck, I even lost one paddle to my row boat! LOL.
