This is the S.S."Alexandra" built in 1908. Germany's only steam driven passenger ship. She still makes short trips with passengers. On their Website you can see under "Besatzung" all the old timers who voluntarily work on the "Alexandra".

I can smell the sunlight on your skin. Listen to them. Children of the night. What music they make!

Nostalgy 'pur sang', Raj. It's wonderful that a lot of volunteers, with probably seawater in their vains instead of blood, keep this maritime heritage alive.
People who visit Flensburg must make a short trip with this ship. See, feel and hear the steam engine running will be the experience of their life.

Thanks for this fine photograph.

Regards, Cornelius.

There are some "young timers" among those old timers. LOL. How did all those workers and passengers fit on that boat? It doesn't looks all that huge. Fantastic shot of the ship, Raj.

I thought it was going to be our resident Owd Timer as well, Raj. Looks like a good place to let off a little steam. Wonderful shot for this fine Sunday.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . .
