Fabulous detail work, Raj. I can see the pollen on his legs. Quite an unusual plant as I've never seen one before. But since I know nothing of flowers, perhaps this is just a weed in one of your parks. Faves for me.
Dorothy Michaels: No, just Dorothy. Alan's always Alan, Tom's always Tom and John's always John. I have a name too. It's Dorothy, capital D-O-R-O-T-H-Y.
I'm quite sure Dot has seen these as she is also from Illinois where it is a major native plant in our state. Excellent details Raj especially impressed with the clarity and detail on that wing.
Now that has to be the best macro of the head of a coneflower I've seen, anywhere. It really gives one a clear idea of their form short of using a microscope. And the bee is a real bonus; I can even see pollen on his front legs. Raj, you have to let people know what settings and lens you use for images like this... it can't be kept secret.
