The lighthouse, completed in 1898 on a hazardous coast for shipping, remained operational until 1984.It was built on the site of a monastery where a small sanctuary light would have acted as a guide to passing ships.

OH MAN, 80 minimum on the c-index. If I see this in the booth it's getting a 10 from me. I created my own screen saver for my Macs consisting of water images and this one can't go in soon enough. Thanks for the submission and I'm jealous as h**l.

I love the reflection of the lighthouse on the wet sand! This is gorgeous! The stark white lighthouse tower up against that sky.....So very lovely!

What a magnificent photo! It has all the things a great shot like this needs. The way the water is washing upon the shore, and the little curls here and there, those huge rocks in the foreground make the whole photo so much more wonderful. I love the lighthouse...and the colours of the water and sky. Wow, all I can say is wow..nicely done my friend. Verena
