Such a sweetie. Please tell me that they are no pests and that you feed them. Or will start feeding them and taking care of their winter shelters, if some agents, like SAM & SAAB, ask you very much ! Poor cute chap looks rather uncertain of himself - unless it is female who is braver.

Think you are living near an open space or a cornfield or something like that, because voles are very shy. Only in the wintertime they come in the vicinity of crowded areas to search for food. As soon as they can find their food in the fields they're gone.
You were very lucky that you could capture one of them. Probably this luck was based on your patience.
