Nice to see a new Kingfisher come to the pond..The Resident Kingfisher was taken by a Sparrowhawk..Taken with a Sony A77ii,Coupled to a Tamron 150-600mm...I'm not sure I like this setup...R.

I've always loved the fancy speckling on their heads, like on the wings of starlings. It's as though they're tiny professors at the head of the class, dressed in tweeds and clothing of that ilk.
