I like the composition of this image, Richie. The colors and muted lighted create a peaceful mood. It appears that you may have replaced the sky in this image; above the trees to the left of the mill, there are some 'ghosts' of tree branches.
Skies are not always accommodating so, in this case, while I can understand the desire, this one is a little too obvious. A great capture of everything else in the photo, however, particularly the mill and water.
If you've ever wanted to make a difference but found it hard to believe that one person could... check out the Kiva Team Caedes discussion thread and discover that anything is possible.
Richie, I really like your picture. I don't get it, if in the end, the picture is beautifully and artistically composed, and pleasing to the eye and soul, why dissect the picture and discus the way you reached your final composition? I do not believe Monet was ever criticized for size of brush he used. Either enjoy the work in front of you or move on.
If you think you can't accept something, try to change it. But if this doesn't work, don't be frustrated, but give it later another try. The one who perseveres wins!
