This is a bit of the greenery I found on the way up. The lighting caught my eye. I do hope that you enjoy this capture and if you are voting and dont enjoy it, tell me why. I can take good constructive criticism better than the ones and twos I have been getting in the vb.

Hey Billy what wonderful trees. I have taken many myself but none that impress me as much as this one. Very nice.

Hi, Billy...

I'm Roger. I love the last sentence in your narrative. Brilliant minds think alike. Check out the last few sentences in my few narratives.

Anyway, I just gave this a 5 in the VB which is what I think of as average. I checked out your gallery and you are much better than an average photographer. I wouldn't be thrilled with a 5 either, but I have more guts than those bastards that hand out the 1's and 2's. So here's why I gave this a 5.

I'm a relative novice with photography; so most of what I do is pretty simple. This shot employs some techniques that I don't understand. Maybe you can send me a PM and enlighten me.

There is a technique that I've heard of where you take three shots and combine them together using layers. Maybe I'm imagining this, but it looks to me like the whole shot is vibrating. I would say it's the exact opposite of clarity. It's not blurry, but there seem to be multiple images in the posting. The two trees in the right foreground look great. But the bulk of the shot is dazzling my poor eyeballs. Secondly, I simply don't buy the sky. It seems there's more green than is natural. I'm not sure if this is oversaturation or what. I know I have the same problem and receive the same complaints. Since we're on the sky, if you look at the largest chunk of sky at the top, you'll notice that the pine needles to the right are white which detracts from the reality of the posting. Finally regarding the sky, if you look between the the two large trees in the right foreground, the color of the sky varies from nearly white to blue. I sometimes end up with the same problem without using the three shot technique. If you send me a PM and tell me what software you used and how you created the final image, maybe we can both learn something.

Finally, I really like most of your gallery. I'm looking for Caedes friends that aren't afraid of constructive and positive comments. I'd like to add you as a Caedes friend so that you can also have the opportunity for some payback.

I'm not sure if this was "good constructive criticism". All I can do is tell you what I think I see and what I like.

I don't know about the others, but I like this forest, I love the green, you made very good shot. I think I gave this post 8, but I didn't know it was yours. I just did, because I liked it.

Yes Billy I get one and twos as well even a zero once,,Never mid,I'll live with it..Anyhow this is nice and green but slightly overexposed,It needs to be darkened a tad to bring out the green and the detail in the trees...R.

Billy,
the VB has become like the weather: unpredictable because of some cowards. I agree with your narrative, mate. It's better to give a good, honest, and constructive comment, like Roger's one above, rather than an anonymus '0' or '1' in the VB.

I like this image. Well done again!

Regards, Cornelius.

I won't go into what I think of the VB and the C-I. I have stated my opinion a number of times. I will just say that when I think of either one, I just give them both a backside raspberry...if you know what I mean. LOL. I like your shot of the hillside trees, Billy. The only advice I have, is to dial down the cyans and blues to get rid of the blue fringing you have on the pine branches near the top of the image. Pretty good shot though.

Most of the scores I give are normally between 5-10, BTK. I have never given a 0 or 1. A photo has to be pretty awful in my mind for me to give it 2. I agree with Roger that had I received this in the VB I would have given a 5. The purple fringing on the trees and the cloud colors tell me something has been overdone.
Every time I vote it is subjective to what I like and know. I try to be overlook that and be fair and objective. I hate the weasels that lurk in the voting booth just to be vindictive.
