Outstanding focus and color in this submission. The advancing cirrus (?) clouds add another dimension in that they draw the eye down and into the cemetery and I swear there's a face up there, providing a ghostly application to the whole image. The angle of this seaside cemetery is also as unusual (for us plains people) as the style of headstones. I see from your bio you are in Wales so, of course, that makes perfect sense you'd have access to old world cemeteries. A great shot and a strong contender for the contest. -Nik

Not sure why there are so few comments for this great image. Great entry, and the colours work for me. There's something about the peace and tranquility of a seaside location, you can imagine the sound of the waves rocking the inhabitants to sleep.

my only alteration would have been to crop out much of that pathway and some of the sky (perhaps a 16 x 9 ratio) - then you'd have both the church and the head stone as strong features.

That would bring out that celtic cross, giving emphasis to the subject. It would then be surrounded by all those lovely stones, sea and sky. That church in the distance is a fantastic focal point on the horizon.

Faved nonetheless.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

Congratulations on your winning photo! The lightness in the sky and darkness on the headstones make for an intriguing image. And that slope - wow! Fantastico!
