Depicted is a part of the eastern outskirts of the city of Rotterdam, The Netherlands, captured while sailing on the 'Nieuwe Maas' river. As you can see: a mix of traditional and new architecture, as Rotterdam was heavy bombed in WWII and only a few old buildings have sustained this attack.

Hope you'll like this image. Thank you in advance for your comment.

PS: the depicted 'old' building (somewhat right of the centre of this image) is the 'Salmon House'. Its origin began in 1863. In 1875 it became a covered market for the sale of salmon, shad, ide, whitefish, twaite and sturgeon. In January 1896 a pavilion above the market was constructed. In 1955 it was reconstructed and today the reconstructed 'Salmon House' is a brasserie.

A beautiful image showing the interesting building along the bank. The small speed boat adds to the beauty of the scene. Very nice, Cornelius.

Cornelius - This series is a wonderful tour of Rotterdam. The blend of new and old gives the city its unique appearance. With the photos taken from waterways, it emphasizes the importance of the water to the well being of the city. Including a water taxi in this scene reinforces that. Well done! Thad

So you were in a boat capturing a boat whizzing by? A unique diverse cityscape along the river. Interesting informative narrative too. Thank you for sharing it.

Just kidding a bit about the boat, Cornelius.
