Recently I was on a photo shoot just outside the town of Middelburg, Zeeland, the Netherlands when the sky turned to dark and the mist came rolling in from the North Sea (at about a distance of 5 miles). It had a strange effect on both landscape and town, so I decided to capture this scene. Five minutes later the town was completely 'disapperared' from the world (LOL) and the landscape was covered in a thick grey 'blanket'.

To me it's a somewhat moody capture. I hope you'll agree with me and will enjoy it. Thanks in advance for your comment. .

Happens when the warm air travels across the cold sea but being an old sea salt you know that...Gives a very nice image though..R.

Beautiful capture Cornelius. One can see the fog approaching and the sunlight still trying to push through it.

Indeed, a very moody photo and a keen eye to capture the natural effect of fog. Well done Cornelius.

I find nothing in this depressing picture, instead it gives a nice effect on the city contrasted with the field!

You were definitely in the right place at the right time, Mr. C. The skyline is amazing as are the fog and the color of the sky. I love all the steeples and the windmill. You even got a couple of horses there, too. That would have been interesting to stand there and watch the town disappear. Excellent shooting!

Talk about being somewhere at the right time and, in your case, right distance too to see this rolling in - excellent and very interesting capture.
