I like all the details! The opening for the draw-bridge doesn't look very large...so I imagine it is for smaller vessels. Love the colorful buildings and the shimmer on the water. Good capture.
What a beautiful scene! Your photo opps are endless there in the Netherlands, Mr. C. I don't think I would have to stop for the drawbridge if I were sailing there. I would just paddle full steam ahead. LOL.
A beautiful scene Mr. C - love those masts and it's wonderful they have a drawbridge so they can sail through. (We have a great many bridges here that do not allow enough room for sailboats and their masts.)
I have seen these in Ohio, in the area where Jimbob lives. Also the turn style type in Michigan. When Harry, and I would go to Florida to see his dad there was one we used to cross almost every day. Mr. C. This is so picture perfect, I applaud you on another excellent image. =^..^=tigs♥
Much for the eyes to take in here, Cornelius. I particularly like the the architecture style of those buildings lining the waterway. Such a picturesque country. Fantastico!
I spotted the red light immediately. I'm thinking the drawbridge is used for taller sailboats as I see some to the left. Excellent & beautiful detail throughout the image. Kudos on an outstanding image, Mr. C.
So much to see SEA. The masts versus the architecture of the buildings really gives it balance. The eye is immediately drawn into the scene. Mucho grande.
There are a great many drawbridges in downtown Chicago Mr. C. to allow the sailboats passage to and from Lake Michigan but they are steel contraptions and not as picturesque as this bridge - very scenic image.
A grand focal point for this...has a great deal for the eye to look at too
