This is the 8th one of my series 'The Race Is On'. This series shows images taken at the annual 'Van Loon Sailing Event' on the Lake of Veere, Zeeland, The Netherlands, the last time held on July, 2018.
I too love the look of this boat with its unique sail. But unless my eyes deceive it seems to be listing to one side - that just may an optical illusion however. Well capture Mr. C.
So what exactly would be the top speed in a race like this? When I think of races they are the typical kinds like foot, bike, human, like that. A race in which my friends and I recline against a wooden bulkhead, soaking in the sun and watching the waves float by is one, I suspect, I could get used to in short order. Looks to be a fun activity as long as you can first afford the venue.
Always digging your traditional watercraft images, C.

STUNNING CAPTURE! My goodness, this scene is mind blowing. Wonderful subject to photograph, and the details, clarity, light and composition are superb. Favorite.
