In spite of the, or 'thanks' to the, present relative high temperatures in my area, we are struck by the 5th storm in a row this year now.

This image was taken yesterday (February 23th, 2020), showing the seafront of Flushing, a town at the peninsula Walcheren, Zeeland, The Netherlands, adjacent to the North Sea. The on the seafront situated traditional windmill 'Oranjemolen' is accustomed to stormy weather, but it wasn't grinding, not of because of the stormy weather, but because it had a day off because of Sunday. I've chosen for the photojournalism gallery instead of the mills gallery because of the actuality.

PS: if desired, I've a colored version available.

The weather looks quite rough Cornelius. We had a quiet day in comparison. Well taken and impressive photo showing the rough sea and spray and the mill against the sky.

Smooth seas do not make skilful sailors.

Great capture, but to close to the water for me.

It looks great in b/w SEA and I would love to see the colored version as well.
I've been watching a series on TV called Seven Worlds, One Planet. It touches on the effects of Global Warming and some of its causes and cures. Very good series.
Your talk of the current weather patter made me think of that.
You surely got a taste of the salt air when you took this shot.
It looks like a Windmill Lighthouse.

Magnificent capture, black and white suits this perfectly. In awe of the details, bravo. Favorite.

I would expect action like this with a lighthouse and not a windmill, but it is definitely interesting. Excellent choice of black and white treatment.

I agree with Jeff's comment above. I had to take a double take as this is a windmill and not a lighthouse! Adds an additional uniqueness to the image that is quite a masterpiece! Kudos all around for this one - composition, focus, content, action - really something special. Faved! Thanks for sharing!
