A beautiful day in downtown Brussels. If I had an apartment over looking this street, I'd take advantage of my presence to be looking out the windows at it all day long!

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

What really draws me in here is the strong contrast between the historic architecture in the foreground and the stark modernity far in the rear. I realize the older structures have likely been here for centuries, but one actually doesn't need to go that far back to find the loss of individual detail in architecture happened within our fathers' lifetimes. Too bad, IMHO, but the same thing has happened in almost every area of manufacturing. Luckily, we have a Netherlander (?) who documents this kind of quality with a practiced and critical eye. His name is often shortened to "C." Perhaps you've heard of him?
