The Kahili Ginger Plant is classified as an invasive weed in Queensland and also in my home state of New South Wales. It is a bit of a chore to keep it under control in my home garden but I do enjoy its elaborate flowers.

Frank, I don't know whether this invasive weed is considered as a pest. If so, it's a wonderful pest, but keep it under control.

I have seen this plant at the Chicago Botanic Garden and it is really beautiful - it's in their tropical greenhouse.

That*s a pretty dang fancy system of blossoms for a weed, Frank. Thanks for sharing such an unusual and excellent foof. I have not seen anything quite like it; clusters of blooms, yes, but not with perfectly spaced open spots or those long lunging anthers.
