..for the sake of auld lang syne! ....words of the great Scottish poet Robert Burns ...and here you see his statue in the main entrance to the Edinburgh Portrait Gallery. I was pleased that they allowed photography in the entrance hall and gallery above as there are some wonderful wall paintings and statues. The mural you see above depicts many of the famous figures from Scotland's history, in chronological order from a stone age man to a 19th century historian.

Very nicely photographed Patti.
Aud Rabbie has a statue in Dunedin , a city inthe South Island of NZ - Dunedin of course being named because of its Scottish Ancestry. He sits in the Octagon in great glory. They even have a 'Burns Society' and the main street is of course - Princes Street.
Your photos of Scotland are great - I am enjoying my virtual tour immensely.

Another great shot, Patti. Such rich murals! I wonder how it would look in HDR? I am fascinated too by the plinth below the main statue, depicting the traditional old Scottish custom of a wife bashing her poet husband over the head with a tea-mug. Ah, those were the days... :-)

I guess you should be allowed to photograph everywhere, but forbid flash.
Overhere, i do not know one museum that does not allow camera's, but a lot of them do not allow tripods. Also this i understand. But getting back to this image, the color is warm it all worked out quiet nicely.
