.......now some would think I was unfortunate to have such dramatic weather when I was in the Lake District...but....I think I was lucky to have the mix of cloud and sunshine, which created such dramatic skies over a dramatic landscape - photographer's dream! Here is another view from Tarn Hows (tarn meaning mountain lake) which is out of sight to my right, looking back across the Cumbrian landscape.

It does not look like a day, where you enjoy holding your nose in the sky (in the what???), but I learned that summer, that cloudes can make good images. This is not the case here - good is not good enough, it is a great image.

The contrast is just amazing here Patti. It looks as though it's two separate images combined although I know that's not the case. Nature is amazing isn't it?. Lovely capture.

you are absolute right..if you can put up with some not-so-desirable hiking weather, you can take advantage of the most-than-desirable photography weather!! Love the colors and such a fantastic view..right into the favs!!

Wow, this is awesome...I didn't realize you had steep mountains like this in the UK. You're right about the weather, your photos are much more interesting and dramatic with all the clouds...makes this shot look like South America or some tropical island! :)

Holy Moley, Gang. I thought we were in the Amazon, as Sherri pointed out, and you wouldn't get that same effect without all the threatened precipitation going on in this scene..A shot that packs a lot of punch :)

Beaitiful, Patti.

It actually puts me in mind of some early paintings of NZ scenery - this is another one I would be happy to have hung on my wall :)

What a lovely, dramatic shot Patti. I've looked at it on both my home computer and work computer. On the former it's fine, but on the latter it's a bit dark in the foreground. As it's my work computer that's best adjusted, then perhaps the foreground could have been tweaked a little lighter, but on my home computer one would never know. Oh the complexities of life! Lol!

What a gorgeous view. I love the contrast between the earthy tones of the forest and the blues of the mountains. The clouds look dreamy. It's an excellent image. :)

There's something very Paradise Lost about this. Rather a new world unexplored. And exquisitely captured.

Hello Patti....This is a fine dramatic picture of the countryside in the North of England...The foreground with its dominate colour and the lighter landscape in the distance makes this picture a pleasure to view...Well done...All the best...Mick.
