....and that is exactly what it is called. It is a folly built on a hill in Lyme Park in Cheshire. It was originally used as a hunting lodge, but later used as a place to lock up poachers, hence the name!
It reminds me a book entitled "The Tartar desert" where there's a castle alone in the desert with the Russian Army awaiting for years for an attack forecasted by the Tartars.
The architecture is very particular.
I like your shot. I'll download for my desktop.

What a place to be locked up! Beautiful but lonely. Those ramblers weren't doing much rambling were they if they stood there long enough for you to get this AND the silhouette shot!
Thanks to all my friends for the wonderful images I get to look at and learn from on Caedes every day. I always have something to say about them, but don't always have the time to record it. Please forgive me if I can't comment on all of your uploads.

Does it have a bar! then!....Hey!..I just know you..that's all!
It's a great capture mizz fogz!...gives a sense of size when you included those people in the shot!...fine work from a fine camera taken by a fine.......Oh that's enough..don't want it to go to yer head eh!
When I look to the people left of the building I've to conclude it's a pretty large building, large enough to build in the by Bob (in his comment above) desired bar, lol. Fine image indeed.

Hi Patti, this is obviously the "outhouse" of your weekend manor residence!!! I like the faint glow of sunlight in this pic, was it a late afternoon shot? Also, as Alexis said above the people in the shot add isolation to the pic. Nice one!

Good shot Patti! The slanting sunlight and tawny colours are beautifully atmospheric. I'm glad you kept the people in; they add a sense of definition and purposefulness to the scene, a nice counterpoint to the building.
I much appreciate all the comments I receive about my images, but please excuse me if I don't always reply. My interest in Caedes is exceeding my time available!
