Here is another picture of the Female Red Winged Blackbird takng a few days back...a little different pose of bird and in vertical format. Two days ago I tried to get a picture of here sitting in nest on her eggs...but finding it dificult to do as she leaves nest when I approach and nest is so well hidden. I don't want to disturb her too much. But have found a lot of these birds nesting in other reeds...and some are really well hidden...

This is simply a wonderful shot of this remarkable bird. I have never seen one of these before but I love its markings. Well captured and framed too. Well done!

Superb work Gerry. I just got my first red winged black bird photo today, and I think I got the female too. I will post them tonight. Not near as good as yours, but I am just starting taking photos in the real world instead of from my deck.
