This shot is better enlaged...Soon it well be surrounded with bracken and deer and it branches with birds and the sound of children playing around it's trunk.

Beautiful shot, I love the tree, pity it's alone.

Good natural colour, exposure is good as well.

On the note of colour, curious ... any filter used on your camera?

Looks reminiscent of a circular polarized photo to an extent.

I love that tree. It's unusual shape, I imagine, from having grown in the setting it found itself. Quite the struggle fighting that slope.

Compositionally?

Interesting.

I do get, I believe, the reason for the inclusion of the other surrounding trees ... in that it illustrates/underscores your title well.

I am wondering, given the character that is readily apparent with the 'lone' tree if it would not make for and literally stand alone in an image by itself?

Perhaps, a companion photo then and more of a suggestion here, than that of a caveat.

Me being me, I did take a look at the largest resolution size and there is some noise present. So..

Not sure what you have at your disposal, have a look at:

(The differences between the 'paid' and 'demo' version ... here.)

Intriguing shot.

And but of course, thank you for sharing it with us. :o)

I like the composition and the way you show the lay of the land Giz. The tree refuses to go into that good night. Well balanced shot.
