Because the outside of Kylemore Abbey is so photographic, one hardly ever sees the inside, so I thought I'd post this one. Kylemore Abbey, Co. Galway, Ireland; September, 2016.
My first thought is the light from these huge windows really lights up the room... my second is man, those chairs and divan look uncomfortable. My arthritis would be nailing me after 10 minutes. I can see a sliver of an exhibit panel on the far left, within a permanent and decorative wood frame. Judging from the number of people in your exterior shot and this exhibit panel (not to mention the velvet public containment ropes and stands on the left), the place must get plenty of visitation. Is this a private endeavor or part of an historic district, monitored and maintained by a government agency?
If you've ever wanted to make a difference but found it hard to believe that one person could... check out the Kiva Team Caedes discussion thread and discover that anything is possible.
Looks Victorian in the layout. Great use of the light with this shot. This room seems as though it would have a different character throughout the day with the windows positioned the way they are.
It's a religious abbey still operated by Catholic nuns as a school for girls, plus one of Ireland's premier tourist attractions. The tourists are only allowed to go in about 4-5 rooms in the abbey itself. The rest are educational, dining, and private quarters for the students and the nuns.
