Back in the old days, circa 1930, some ingenious and needy farmer converted a GMC truck into a hay stacker. Butte Valley Museum, Dorris, California, USA.

Dang! I started to write "Necessity is..." then I saw what Alex wrote. Actually, I think this guy is my brother-in-law, an extremely inventive individual, particularly when it comes to putting junk to reuse. This is very cool. I bet if I sent it to him he'd probably build one, probably for lifting hay for his horses.
