On the Board Walk one Sunday morning after church in 2010 and boy was it foggy. Love the spooky feeling over the river and looking down the walk. This is also part of the 24km long Hug Trail which weaves in and out of the city, which comes behind our home.
Believe it or not there was a 1000ft/304.8m freighter/cargo ship in that fog out there. If you view in full you an see the water drops that are on the railing.
The only thing I did to this image was put a shadow framing around it with Adobe PhotoShop Elements 10.
Hope you enjoy the view and I'm thinking of putting this into the current contest. Let me know what you think. Might post a another one in a few days, of the actual freighter/cargo ship coming out of the locks before he got to this very thick fog.

Very nice photograph and may I say artistic too with stunning composition and colours of grey tones.I also like the feeling of stillness in this photo too.Plus the detail is lovely and sharp with spot on depth of field.

When experiencing fog in a landscape, one usually has it in abundance, nearly obliterating everything in view. In that situation it's difficult to see the difference (within the same photograph) between the fog and the same scene untouched by the earthbound cloud. Your photo truly shows a clean edge of fog, relatively rare, and that's what sets this image apart from the others. The smaller portion of clear boardwalk, with a pleasant and well-composed diagonal to the left, pulls us into the scene as though it were attempting to skirt the edge of the fog. The open water in the foreground allows us to see the edge of the fog. This is a very nice capture, Pat, in that it shows the fog as an entity separate from the rest of the world. I could easily see this as a dust jacket for a mystery novel or a cover for a jazz CD. For my money, it's the number one choice in this contest. No one's beaten it yet. I know you've referred to yourself as an amateur shutterbug (I'm paraphrasing here) in the past, but this is professional level. Good work.
