Yesterday my girlfriends & I decided we'd go on our Annual Long Fall Walk. As you might be able to guess where we are, this is on Mackinac Island, Michigan at the Grand Hotel. This is only 55 miles south of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario Canada.

Did not touch the colour at all just brought out some detail.

Hope you enjoy the view and thank you in advance for your time and comments most welcomed.

Have a Gorgeous Day, ♥ Skates

I like this perspective as well - I took a shot from close to this very angle when I was there, a gorgeous day for your walk too!

Pat, I see that you're in a very good company, my dear friend!!
Wonderful capture, probably taken by your hubby Jack. If so, he has proven to be a skilled photographer.
Thanks for his very fine and sunny (meant literally and figuratively) image!!!

Ah yes, the hotel with the longest covered porch in the United States. It's so large it's the most prominent object you see while coming out on the ferry. Brings back pleasant memories. My wife, youngest son, and I visited here in late July of 2001 (never conceiving what was about to happen 6 weeks later) and toured the island. We were staying at an affordable (for us, at the time) hotel in St. Ignace and, on the island, while walking along the trail from town out to the Grand, came up to a sign behind you that states only hotel guests were allowed beyond that point. There was a nice young lady stationed at that spot so I was able to get past the sign by asking for a brochure of the hotel, with rates for rooms, so I could consider going back sometime, like for an anniversary. I was able to go with her to the lobby for my brochure and so got a good look at it. Sneaky? Yeah, but I still consider the possibility of going back to revisit and stay at least one night in the Grand for the atmosphere. North Dakota's not that far away.
