in this one we're looking away from the actual point about 180 degrees. the sand was such a gorgeous color and texture (maybe that's where this should be uploaded). this day was chilly but sooooooo clear. i'll bet when the weather is hot the sand would burn the heck out of your feet. thanks for any of your comments. ENJOY!

This is really a shot with nothing to focus on. Beach is bland and the sky is really boring, as are the dunes. A vacation shot.

Interesting shot, I like how the sand is between the two hills and looks untouched.

"ALONE I walked the ocean strand;
A pearly shell was in my hand:
I stooped and wrote upon the sand
My name—the year—the day.
As onward from the spot I passed,
One lingering look behind I cast;
A wave came rolling high and fast,
And washed my lines away..."
Gould, Hannah Flagg, 1789-1865

Finding the beauty and joy in the simple things keeps us sane, I think, and there is much to ponder in this peaceful scene, Jen. Nice job.

Can't agree with Mike's comment above. To me this image tells without words more than a book. Perhaps because I'm living near a quite similar environment. Love the tranquil atmosphere. Miss only the never ending song of the sea Jen but therefore I have my imagination.
To me a wonderful post. Thanks for that.
Regards, Cornelis.

in reference to the first comment. it wasn't the excitement of the beach that drew me in, it was the serenity. jen

Best wide-angle lens? Two steps backward. Look for the 'ah-ha'. Ernest Haas

I can't see what the barking is about, this is just a beautifully composed and serene shoreline image that goes on for a long way to draw the eye into the scene. And to think this is almost land's end in the most southern part of Africa 'is' quite exciting. Thanks for bringing us here, Jen. I love it!

Barking, you are too funny Cindy. I'm not just wagging my tail when I say this is really good Jen. It makes me want to walk that beach and take in all the atmosphere as I approach the sea.

I would like someone with me at the time as well. Maybe Hannah Flag Gould would make a nice companion.
