this mountain (etc) landscape is taken it the high desert near benson, arizona. if you're interested in this southeastern arizona terrain you can find more info at.....http://alic.arid.arizona.edu/Sonoran/documents/mcginnies/McGinnies_overview.html. this was the same day we visited kartchner caverns. (can't take pictures in there......they even wet you down with mist) enjoy this beautiful area which was new to me. thanks for any comments.

Wonderful depth to this scene & the blue sky / clouds sets it off nicely. Love the textures of the grasses & shrubs in the foreground ... then the mountain scape is absolutley beautiful.

I traveled through this area (about 25 years) on my way to Tombstone & Sierra Vista. Alot to see there. Beautifully captured Jen. Faves!

Wonderful perspective as always. Sensational colors and great majesty from lowland to highland. A beautiful portrait of the Southwest.

I agree fully with the above comments that this image earns the qualifications 'gorgeous', 'wonderful', 'beautiful', 'sensational', 'surreal' and 'very well done', but to me its 'very impressive' as well. Must be great to see this secene with one's own eyes. Thanks for this fine post Jen.

What a beautiful, beautiful scene Jen. The grasses in the foreground with the mountains in the backdrop are perfect. My first thought was of the movie "The Snows of Kilimanjaro" based on the great book by Ernest Hemingway. Just a little snow on the peaks would have done it.

I find the fence disheartening in such a vast open land. Not the fact that it is in your photo, the fact that it exists.

Sorry to ramble this just evoked some thoughts. Nice post Jen.

Sweet scene!! Perhaps a lower angle on the take would enhance the view that much more??
