Okay everyone now lets all look North East from the lookout tower. As we overlook Falls Park and all it's Christmas lights, we can see the spires of St. Joseph's Cathedral dominating the skyline. This beautiful Romanesque and French Renaissance style building was built in 1918, and looks as good inside as it does out. This landmark's spires can be seen from almost anywhere in the city. Every year at this time they put on a concert called "Christmas at the Cathedral". This year it is being broadcast nationally on CBS on December 24th during the normal "Letterman" time slot. If you'd like to see a beautiful old time rendition of the Cathedral look HERE . By the way in case you were wondering about the fate of John in my post yesterday, we had nothing to worry about. Remember cats always land on their feet! ;)

Ah, so lovely! Thanks for posting this and the history. I'm going to try to remember to watch on the 24th. This is a really beautiful cathedral from what I can see here and on your link. I would like to see the inside. I'm sure it's beautiful too. These park scenes have really done a lot to instill the festiveness of this season. Thanks for all the lovely Christmas light scenes. I'm enjoying them.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

I went back to yesterdays pic to get into the mood again and now I feel, as if I really stand there and follow you, my guide in this area. It looks wonderful again and so does the church, even it is a very "young" church. Great shot!

It looks like a castle on a hill Dan and very pretty the way it is lit in this golden color. I will be sure to mark the concert on my calender to watch. Maybe we'll get a peek of you perhaps?. I went to your link also- thanks for sharing part of your town history with us and what a beautiful Christmas card this would make.
