From an old "junk" folder. I had previously posted one of this old pioneers cemetary which had been long forgotten and neglected until recently. A couple of the old tombstones (or what's left of them) are shown here. I gave it a sepia finish and spotlight type border. For a look at my previous shot and the history of it, use this link! Thanks for viewing and commenting!

And hence the concept of the 'sepia' tones for your pioneering post. A rather interesting perspective in your 'subject' matter, to be honest I set each photo for all of you to desktop first without reading narratives or others comments then make my judgements in fairness. I have to say the center focus is a bit too bright in contrast to the darkened border so the use of the sepia to give it the antique finish is good and a tone down. Nothing is ever 'really' considered junk as someones 'considered junk' is anothers treasure, I will gander at your history link.

What you have done with the image, gives it the feeling of a very hot dessert (if you do not notice the snow - smile). Very different to the cold shot last time, but still very interesting.

When you first posted the photo you linked us to I commented on it at the time and enjoyed the message it sent, but to tell you the truth, I think this tells the story even better than the original one. I like the effect you used, my friend, and I wouldn't change it, if it were mine.

I can sense the loneliness of the prairie from your post. The lightened background adds a feeling of warmth to the scene and it might seem like the desert sun, but for the snow on the ground. Nice effects, Dan.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

I like what you've done with this shot. It's so interesting to imagine the lives of those buried there.
