Cromwell, Connecticut, USA. Those in the know will be able to identify the type; I can only label it Butterfly. It spent some time on the butterfly bush today. Enjoy!
"I'm never going to be famous. My name will never be writ large on the roster of Those Who Do Things. I don't do any thing. Not one single thing. I used to bite my nails, but I don't even do that any more." -

I thought I was the local entomologist/lepidopterist, but it looks like everyone has beat me to the punch. If you were Julius Caesar, you might say, et tu, Papilio glaucus L.?
This is a gorgeous shot. I haven't seen a swallowtail in this condition in years. There was a photo in the VB a little while ago. The colors were non-existent and the poor butterfly looked like he had bounced off of a few windshields. Perfect clarity, delicious colors. Excellent photo.
