At the east end of the national park, the Desert View vista presents the lighter colors of the canyon, as it is adjacent to the Painted Desert (seen on the right). The vast scale of this canyon is hard to comprehend even when seen in person.

Progress equals a trashed planet since mankind is too busy altering it. BTW find the classic definition of Caedes here. Enjoy yourself today (o: because you don't know what tomorrow may bring.

Gee, I don't know, Thad. Those people look positively monstrous standing next to the buttes like that! ;oPPPPPPPPPP

All goofin' aside, it's an outstanding photo. I normally eschew people in gorgeous landscape photos--places like this canyon--but here, with so many crammed into the same small spot at the end of the viewing enclosure, explains what visiting this place is like... as well as the human condition. I hope to visit there myself, someday, but I'm also hoping I can find a time to do it when there's not a crush of people.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
