Pardon me for what may be too religious for some, but this is from my heart and I'm doing this for "Him".
And the lyrics of O Holy Night....the most beautiful song ever written, IMO.

O Holy night, the stars are brightly shining
It is the night of our dear Savior's birth
Long lay the world
In sin and error pining
'Till He appeared and the soul felt His worth

The thrill of hope,
The weary world rejoices
For yonder brings a new and glorious morn

Fall on your knees
Oh, hear the angel's voices
Oh night divine
Oh night when Christ was born
Oh night divine
Oh night,
Oh night divine
Oh Holy night, the stars are brightly shining
It is the night of our dear Savior's birth
Oh
Long lay the world
In sin and error pining
'Til He appeared and the soul felt His worth
The thrill of hope,
The weary world rejoices
For yonder brings a new and glorious morn
Fall on your knees
O, hear the angel's voices
O night divine
O night when Christ was born
O night divine
O night,
O night divine

i can still hear Nat King Cole belting this out. "oh night deee viiinnnnnee" *brrrr...goosebumps*
yes it is a very religiously-themed song, but a beautiful one. it's also a very peaceful and spiritual one, and i know a few people who arent religious and/or of the Christan faith that like this song for those properties. nicely done :o)

Quiet and I were out for dinner on Friday night.

The singer, providing entertianment for the evening, was stellar in her own right. At one point, in a room-full of conversation, she was joined by her mother. They began to sing. A complex harmony with blended and weaving voices brought only by training, years of practice and genetics. Their choice of Silent Night, Holy Night ... immediately achieved the title as the room fell silent and faces aglow turned to the artists. Deeply touched by the melodious and timeliness alike.

Christmas was real in the room right at that moment.

"Christ the Saviour is born...." Indeed.

Merry Christmas Terri, and thank you for letting us enjoy your birthday gift to Jesus.

No such thing as 'too religious'! Why else was man created than to remember the creator? Let me know if you get a thank you. lol I love the dark blues. Blues always seem reverent and respectful and holy to me. Yes, this is my favorite Christmas Carol too, so I am saying thank you also and a great Christmas to you and yours and may you find much joy and peace in the coming year.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

An interesting, unusual and beautiful interpretation of a lovely carol. I especially like blues and greens, so I like the colour scheme here a lot, too. I'm not in any way religious, but the music and images of any faith or none can move and touch us by appealing to our shared humanity.

Hoping you had a peaceful Solstice and that you have a great 2007.

Peace,
cfr

Terr, while I am opposed to boycotting shops for using or not using the term Merry Christmas...THIS is not one of the things I am opposed to. This is gorgeous!!! I especially love the touch of the star, and the blue is such a pretty shade and so crisp. Again, you have made a great image that makes me wanna hate you for being so damned talented and creative (much like me wanting to hate my husband for being able to eat EVERYTHING and not gain an ounce!!)

This is a great holiday image, and a great creation of yours in general. Very nicely done...and thanks for spreading holiday cheer to Caedes...no matter what someone's manner of celebrating is. So Merry Christmas, may it be joyful and safe, and full of lots of family, friends, and yummy goodies.

...And...in true Jenn nature, I will now hijack your comments page with a semi-appropriate joke to start off your Christmas eve...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
An Irishman in a wheel chair entered a restaurant one afternoon and
asked the waitress for a cup of coffee. The Irishman looked across
the restaurant and asked,
"Is that Jesus sitting over there?" The waitress nodded "yes," so the
Irishman told her to give Jesus a cup of coffee on him.
The next patron to come in was an Englishman with a hunched back. He
shuffled over to a booth, painfully sat down, and asked the waitress for a cup of hot tea.
He also glanced across the restaurant and asked, "Is that Jesus over
there?" The waitress nodded again, so the Englishman said to give
Jesus a cup of hot tea, too.
The third patron to come into the restaurant was a Brotha from the
hood on crutches.
He hobbled over to a booth, sat down and hollered, "Hey there sweet
thang, hook a brotha up with a cold glass of RC!" He, too, looked
across the restaurant and asked, "Is that God's boy over there?" The
waitress nodded again, so the Brotha said to give Jesus a cold glass
of RC, too.
As Jesus got up to leave, he passed by the Irishman, touched him and
said, "For your kindness, you are healed." The Irishman felt the
strength come back into his legs, got up and danced a jig out the
door.
Jesus also passed by the Englishman, touched him and said, "For your
kindness, you are healed." The Englishman felt his back straightening up and
he rose up his hands, praised the Lord and did a series of back flips out the door.
Then Jesus walked towards the Brotha from the hood. The Brotha jumped
up and yelled, "Slow ya roll playa, don't touch me dog, I'm drawin' disability."
