Taken at the St. Louis Zoo. This was shot in the Reptile House. Mr/Mrs. Turtle was haulin' underwater and I really wanted to get a shot of him/her. The glass was covered in fingerprints, nasal secretions and heaven knows what else. Happy kids all around, jostling, moving, shaking, bumping & no tripod! *whew* Not a stellar photo for sure, but I am happy to even have caught this fella in my camera frame!

"Nasal Secretions!" LOL Mimi. Good underwater shot. The only time I could tell which was the Mr. and which the Mrs. Turtle was at the St. Louis Zoo. A large crowd had gathered round two very large turtles. They were in a compromising situation. The noises they were making woke up the residents in the next cage. I thought about throwing a bucket of water on them but they didn't appear to be knotted--just in love.

Good post Mimi.

Tell me if you like it or don't but be sure to tell me why! I promise to always give honest and sincere (albeit gentle when necessary) critiques. MY NEW YEARS TIP for all, go have some fun with your new gear you got for Christmas. Do some things you rarely or never do. If you always shoot scenics, go shoot macros (or as close up as you can get.) Practice on different subjects, try new lighting techniques, bracket your shots (shoot the same image at different exposures and different apertures), get down low and shoot from your back, your belly, and your knees. Bend, twist, lean and climb up on things. Shoot toward the sky (carefully - blown out sunlight is NOT attractive :-) Just do something different and amaze yourself then share with us :-) Love you Caedians.
