This is the underground and flooded crypt in The Chiesa di San Zaccaria, Venice, Italy. The church is dedicated to St. Zechariah, the father of John the Baptist. The remains of various doges are buried in the crypt of the church. An amazing place for photos. As always, thank you for looking and leaving a comment.

I wish I was a Glow Worm, a Glow Worm's never glum, 'cause how can you be grumpy, when the sun shines out your bum?

I bet it a photographers heaven there!...

Is the chamber permanently flooded...or has it been due to the recent rain storms?

Did you have rubber boots on Doug? Nice and interesting capture especially with the reflection.

The reason why the sun sets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB

An old dog like you should feel right at home among the doges, Gibbs. I bet your paddle was barking by the time you got out of there.
Unique and well taken photo.

Marvelous post and the reflection is perfect and also a reminder that Venice has a history of flooding. Excellent shot & composition

Looks like it's only an inch or two of water... here, anyway. Love that soft reflection in the water; this would have been a killer in the recent "Reflections" contest.
