Bet you never thought you'd see an upload from me in this gallery. Well, it's Valentine's next week, I needed a break from Thailand and I felt like experimenting. So, will you?!
Oh yes, if you ask so nicely ...
Just call me, dear Nigel.
LOL
Very sweet image - even for a person so completely unromantic and not sentimental at all like myself !!! LOL
"Where there is perhaps a province in which the photograph can tell us nothing more than what we see with our own eyes, there is another in which it proves to us how little our eyes permit us to see." ~Dorothea Lange
If I say yes...it might cause a stir on here. LOL. Nice tulips, but I'd rather have a great big box of dark chocolate candy. Seriously, that's a very good artistic shot. I love the lighting, and everything else about the composition. Super detail.
Great use of light and desaturation Nigel. There is a bright spot that tends to grab the viewers eye and pull it away from the beauty of the tulips though. The shadows play nicely in the background and this image appears very soft.
The color of the tulips plays a role here as well...they are not dramatic, but offer the romantic view :=)
Beautiful still life.
Oh and yes, I will !! =)
To my favorites and thank you for sharing this with me!
I'll take a six pack and I'm not talking Roses or Tulips Sir Nigel. Like the contrasts and colors. Did you have a spell cast upon you while in Thailand?

Well, Nigel, I'm quite surprised, and then again, not really. Beautiful attention paid to the lighting. I love how the glass vase deflects and increases the play of light. The flowers are beautiful in clarity and color. Only one suggestion would be to soften the edge on that arc of light behind the tulips. Just MHO. And ... I would love to be counted among your many Valentines from Caedes!

this is a fab shot mr moore, i love the lighting and the soft colours on the flowers and of course the water drops! and wow what a good c-inded you have here! :-) grin
Be your....??? err no thanks mate! lol But camera partner - yes!!! If you can teach me stuff like this! Nigel, I would give this 10/10 in all aspects. The composition (perfect for a DT), the focus, the detail, I could go on, and I really like the clearly visible water drops. A masterpiece my friend.
The shadow play in this is fantastic Nigel! And the color contrast of the flowers to background, a favorite! I love the way the water becomes the lighting as it refracts and reflects.
Hi Nigel..this is the first time I've seen this lovely creation of yours...I know you posted it long ago, but it's so beautiful, that it's going right onto my desktop. And of course, the little tiny droplets of water just adds the right touches.I need something sweet like that to greet me. I love all the shadow play and yet the light is right on the Tulips...just precious. V
"Well," said Pooh, "what I like best," and then he had to stop and think. Because although Eating Honey was a very good thing to do, there was a moment just before you began to eat it which was better than when you were, but he didn't know what it was called. ~A.A. Milne
Just call me, dear Nigel.
