I do know what this is! Apparently they're scarce in England, but they were everywhere at the bird reserve Jan and I visited. I liked the shapes and colours. I wanted to upload a couple of shots to say apologies in advance for not commenting the next week - I'm going to be away. See you when I get back and thanks to everyone who comments.

OK...you know what kind of flower this is, but I want to know what kind of bug that is that's hanging on the leaf on the left. LOL. (Sorry, you don't need to get a book about bugs, too.) Excellent foofy shot Nigel. Have a great time on your travels.

Very nice Nigel. Well balanced composition. Very much like the soft muted tones. I particularly like the way the light has highlighted the leaf edges. The b/g really works here with the gradated tone, seems like it is blasted glass or something. Good work.

Spot on focusing, and the depth of field is fab, colours seem a bit washed out though, but that could be my old monitor.....

This is a very romantic and very beautiful image, Nigel. It has a soft, dreamy character that you have captured so very well. The lighting, the dof and the focus are all very professional in quality. Wonderful image! Faved it too.

A beautiful image of this rarity Nigel - well done.
It is quite commn here - and easy to grow, has a long flowering season - mine has flowered all winter - simply because I was too lazy to cut it back :)
Lovely lighting on the this and the background is expertly done - nice post.
Have a grood break away!

This is really good. The delicate pink is so lovely. You have got the DOF perfectly right. My only query is won't this plant look strange floating on your hot chocolate.

I love the softness of this image, the background really flatters the sharpnes and detail of the flower and leaves. Have a great getaway!

It's an interesting thing...did you know that way back in the beginning of the Bible writings, there are mentions of this Marshmallow plant? I've never seen one before so this is a real treat. And the way you took this photo, it's almost as tho this is a delicate canvas painting. Very beautifully soft and sharp.I wonder if it's also called Rose of Sharon, I had one of those and looks very similar.Verena

If you have a talent, use it in every which way possible. Don't hoard it. Don't dole it out like a miser. Spend it lavishly, like a millionaire intent on going broke
