I've been getting about a lot over the last few weeks, as some of you know. In fact last weekend was the first for a month that I spent at home. I've got a backlog of stuff to post from all over the place, and not a lot of time to spend editing. So it will come as a slow trickle, if you'll pardon the expression. This was taken in the Lake District a couple of weeks ago but I haven't a clue where exactly. Orienteering was never my thing. Which won't come as a surprise to anyone who was in Bradford!

Well, to answer your question, Very!! Nigel this seems to capture everything The Lake District has to offer. Big trees compete with sheep happily grazing on lovely green grass while in the distance looms two big hills where the weather is closing in. This picture has everything. The only thing missing is a bench for Bob!

Beautiful photo with such perfect lighting Sir Nigel. I can tell it was the lighting you were after because you captured it so well. Everything else just fell into place. You had me in the prostrate position laughing at your slow trickle comment. Excellent post.

I guess Bradford has a lot of gas stations to stop and ask directions, huh, Nigel? Or maybe just farm houses. I'm glad you found your way back. This is one marvelous picture. Everything about it is just right. I love the mountains in the clouds especially.

It is all about the light and did you ever capture it with this image. Such depth created with the light and shadow play. All the elements and then some. Beauty post. Thanks for the share.

Wow, really love this shot, Nigel. You captured a very beautiful peaceful scene. Love the little sheep, they really add to the perspective, and the clouds add to the overall charm.

A beautiful comp, the the rolling hills and beautiful green valley. I'd like to see a bit more detail in the front area of trees, but I have no idea what you started with. I do like the layering of color from the foreground to the hills. An absolutely beautiful countryside shot, Nigel.

Hey, Sir Nigel, you mean you didn't leave any bread crumb trail so you could get back to this idyllic scene? Shame on you, but at least you took a good shot of it away with you! Just a gorgeous scene all the way around. And even though a 74 is nothing to be sneezed at, a higher score would be in order if I had had a chance to see this in the voting booth!
