I know that this looks like a lily but I've searched the internet for pics of hollyhocks. There are some that mimic their sisters...this one was growing up the rustically sided old restaurant called Veanos on Old Loudon Road in Concord, NH and it was such a pretty sight that I couldn't abandon her...oh, and they have great food inside too (not an endorsement) <<LOL>>

EDIT: A very knowledgeable source tells me that this is a gladiolus...got corrected on the spelling too !!!

The wood siding makes a great backdrop for this amazingly colorful flowers. I really like this one..I think its because of the simple, yet vibrant colors.

That's a gladiolus (not gladiolas). Means "little sword" in Latin. Great shot, made it easy to identify.
