On one one of the informative placards placed here and there along the trail up into the Flume it was stated that some of the lichens and ferns had been growing and creating and recreating themselves for hundreds of years. I guess that's one of the reasons scrambling about the sheer walls is frowned on. It was fine with me. I only left the beaten path twice. Pretty good record for a shutterbug, huh?

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

Hi PJ, I've been off CAEDES for some time with other things and today when I checked my favorites, this was the first pic in the long list. : ) I just happened to be playing with PaintShop at the time and tried your picture with the one-step photo fix feature. The tiny white flowers suddenly popped right up with brightness and contrast increased. Looking at the photo histogram showed all the pixels way down at the dark end. Composition is great.
