As you can see by the water wheel, the sluice that leads to it and the marshy area in front of this old building, it was utilized for some purpose. At this point I think it's kept up for the beauty of it. It was a unique find and one that was a very pleasant surprise.

I'm glad you found it too. One can only imagine how much water has cascaded over its wheel and what work was being done during the process. Colors are great as is clarity. Very nice post.

"It was a unique find and one that was a very pleasant surprise".

For me too! The color of that mill really pulls you into the shot and it such a good perspective with quite a bit of green still in the landscape. I don't know why I haven't seen your images in Yankee Magazine. They have a picture of the red bridge over the Pemigewassett River like the one you posted here on the cover of Lonely Planet's guide to New England. I saw that and thought, "That's PJ's picture! " lol

You certainly like looking 4 the olde when u go out a strolling PJ, and this shot certainly captures it. I notice that a lot of old American monuments are heavily preserved, and this watermill is no exception.
Merry olde England is so heavily populated now it's rare to see something like this which could so easy rot away.
Thumbs up
