I can see that this was not done in a jiffy Lisa. The result is perfect and couldn't be any better. The details such as the colors, the shadows and lights, the pose - all are very well taken care of. Kudos to you for this work!

Japanese gardens are made for 'tranquilty' too...they are so peaceful.....There are some in my region and I really enjoy either strolling through...or just sit and muse!

Dorothy Michaels: No, just Dorothy. Alan's always Alan, Tom's always Tom and John's always John. I have a name too. It's Dorothy, capital D-O-R-O-T-H-Y.

Please explain Lisa. I'm not sure what you did here. Make this? Paint this? Create this? It's beautiful but I am unaware of the process to get this to our screen:):):)

Thank you, all. It means a lot. Sincerely!

Bruce, yes. I made this. I painted this. I created this, from scratch. I use an ancient CorelDraw Suite (at least a dozen generations in the dust from the current version) to create most of my art, on an old computer that isn't even connected to the internet.

But, from my experience, it doesn't matter so much what tools an artist has, it's what he (or she) can do with them, no?

For me, art starts in my mind. If I come up with an idea and I can see the image clearly in my mind, I can recreate it. And often ... I do! :)

I join me in the above superlatives, Lisa.
Fabulous painting, categorized by me as HQ-art.
S+F instantly of course. Thanks for that!

She has all the appearance of the result of an Italian-American G.I. and a Japanese woman meeting, falling, and planning to marry during the occupation. Unfortunately the G.I. returns to the states because her family frowns on such a union, having lost sons to U.S. Marines on several Pacific islands. The lady and her daughter are provisionally banned and the daughter finds the only way to live within the parameters of Japanese society is on the stage, her heavy Kabuki makeup hiding her occidental heritage... somewhat... but we know and can see it. She's beautiful in both cultures.

I just thought your lovely lady could use a little personal backstory, Lisa.

I enjoy a piece that makes me think :o)

The reason why the sun sets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB
