A nice job of colorizing, Rob. I've seen many that are vastly overdone; this looks more natural and it's a perfect "slice of life" you've chosen. The same is true of your Lincoln image. It's important to preserve these historical images because, as your post indicates, it's on nitrate, and anyone who watches old silent films on TCM will know, those films are sometimes in rough shape because nitrate is unstable and will sometimes eat up the film. The same thing happens to news print. You will notice how newspapers turn brown with age; that's the acid in the cheap, coarse paper eating it up.

Happy Trails

Rob, Nik really said it perfectly, and I agree with him. Not over done in the process, this sure evokes the old time feel, great job! I find it interesting that she is lighting up. :) tigs=^..^=

Rob, you've kept me from the street, by checking-out all the links in your narrative, ☺ ☺ ☺ .

It's not only the perfect colorization that deserves admiration, but preventing this historical image from what 'Nik' describes above, as well.

To me a time document, without any frills, because it shows the hardship in a perfect way. The very well dosed colorization is enhancing the reality.
Perfectly done per usual, my friend!
