I'm certain Mrs. Longworth would be quite impressed at the coloring effect of her portrait Rob - Great work as per usual - the photographer really set this portrait up very nicely - the chair, draperies and palm tree form a frame surrounding Mrs. Longworth!!!!!!!

Rob, you gave your previous contribution the title 'Woman with an attitude'. Think that this can be valid for this one as well.
I'm in doubts whetter this lady shows dignity, some arrogance or 'air', a mix of that, of nothing from these at all. We can't ask her about that anymore however, so an intriguing portrait enhanced by the, per usual, perfect colorization process.
You've succeeded again to keep us busy in puzzling about the questions like the ones above, my friend, ☺ ☺ ☺ . Good work!!

I'm thinking she had a air about her, perhaps some socialite. You did an outstanding job on this one. tigs=^..^=

Yes I also think she has an air about her but I think she just is not happy about having her photo taken. She is all dressed up in her beautiful gown but sits uncomfortably on the edge of the chair gazing at a plant !.
However, if she could see what magic you have worked on this photo I am sure she would look much happier. :)

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

A relatively young Mrs. Longworth. I don't see the same attitude the others do, more like one of quiet reflection. She should be happy with this one, though; nearly perfect profile and no double chin.

That's remarkable. And you found a relatively pristine shot to work with too. It makes a big difference in how the mind accepts the image, too much damage and it overpowers the subject. The whole structure of the sitting is different than what we've seen before too. She's in an elaborate setting facing away from the camera, and a vague cityscape appears through the window. To me, it suggests wealth and a distain for the common viewer, someone above the rabble. Or it may be an attempt to stage a candid shot, giving the appearance of someone caught unaware in a moment of introspection. Something Olan Mills is still doing, hideously. I'm especially impressed by the richness of color you've been able to inject back into the image. Her intricate dress and gold skirt, flowing out behind her, is so perfect in tone my mind says it's real, that I'm simply looking at a slightly desaturated color photo. Did I already say remarkable?
