Rob, the young barefooted farmer's girl exudes determination and self-confidence, although the situation at this time is probably not the ideal breeding ground for it.
As far as the colorization work: I may fall into repetition by saying that I couldn't imagine more appropriate colors than the one you've chosen. If one didn't know better, one would think that you saw this young farmer's lady in person. Again an excellent piece of work, my friend.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

She looks to be about 15 or 16 years of age, her beautifully-colored dress is in good condition, and her stance proclaims her confidence... not the normally-photographed side effects of the Great Depression. Morganza, Louisiana is on the banks of the Mississippi River, about 18 miles due south of the sharp notch in the border between Louisiana and Mississippi (below Louisiana's "Boot Laces"). There are plenty of nasty critters and bugs that crawl in the grasses there and she's barefoot. More confidence displayed. Everyone should have kids like her.
