Taking my 3 yr old on a Mother's Day hike at a local nature sanctuary. One of the biggest things I would like my kids to appreciate is the simplicity of just walking through nature. Living in a big city, some might think that might be hard to come by. But after my first son was born, I've been discovering hidden nature gems all over the city. Since he was 4 months old, I've been taking him on hikes in state and local parks, nature sanctuaries, and preserves around my area. I'm hoping he will keep these childhood memories and build on it for his kids in the future.

Good job on the black and white image. Your image is thoughtful and tells the story. I loved taking my kids on nature walks when they were young.

This is an excellent capture of a happy day in the ongoing history you and your son are creating. The perspective of the near-converging lines of the bridge, the mouth of the foliage tunnel at its apex, and your son smack in the middle, head turned just enough to evoke exploration on his part, all in good focus and the more evocative b&w treatment, makes this a real keeper. I'm hoping you have it printed large, framed, and hanging in a prominent place in your home to put a smile on every guest who sees it. A fav for me.

Happy Trails

I admire both your intent, your narrative, and especially your photo... perhaps you will enliven your son's curiousity...and as well as being a subject he may take his own photos... Wonderful posting.
