There's so much to capture in downtown Jackson Mi but little time that day to do so. I just happen to turn the corner as it was starting to rain and got this one first. not as interesting as yesterdays, yet something drew me to it. shame some of these old beautiful houses are in disrepair. wasn't sure I would post it till I had time to play. what you shoot and post are surely two different things. this one just a little play in Lightroom after I edited and posted the building from yesterdays posting. I suppose ok. I do love those all brick house with the coopla's on top, odd this one had a door. even odder was the fact it was open with rains bearing down. hard to tell if someone lives there are not. Enjoy!

Chris, if you hadn't a lack of sufficient time, you could have checked, by ringing the bell, whether an acrobatic burglar has opened the coopla's window or that an inhabitant has done this, 😄
Fine capture anyhow. Well done again.

That clouded sky really adds to the mood of this one, I love that door, that is really different. I'm thinking they might still live there, and possibly have left the door open to air things out. With the overhang it might not get wet inside unless heavy rain, and wind. In any case this turned out great! tigs=^..^=

A fine old house Stylo - too bad its been neglected and so in need of repair - the design of the cupola is unique - I also like the cornices as well - Very Nicely Done!!!!!!!!

I prefer the old houses...more character and the stories they could tell...I may be wrong but I have a hunch this is uninhabited...great shot and leaving us to wonder...

yeah from the looks of it I had to agree with nobody was home but ghost! like you Saw, I love the old houses. in fact, I live in one. character it has! I'm thinking ghost as well. Downtown Jackson is much like most of our inner-cities sad to say. the heart of the town is beautiful. much to do and see. much to capture. have to get down there more often to just shoot.

I am definitely making good use of that last word in your post, Chris. If there were homes like this here where I live, back when I had the energy and youth to work on it, I would have absolutely loved to gut and recondition it.. my wife would agree. What a gorgeous place with details one seldom sees in an abandoned home (at least, not in my experience). At least by your sharing of it, there are details here I might be able to incorporate into the construction I'm planning in my back yard, so thanks loads, dude. Looking forward to more.
